With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Ribeiro in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edvin Stor saved ONLY MAMATA HAS NO END from getting behind. 19 minutes into the match, Pena's goalkeeper Toninho Barbosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Duda Varela. 21 minutes into the match, Eriberto de Moraes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Toninho Barbosa. Pena's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eriberto de Moraes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Pena's Toninho Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto de Moraes in the 26th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Marcinho Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 34th minute of the game. One of ONLY MAMATA HAS NO END:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pena:s goal. In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Pena. Zé Ribeiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Edvin Stor. 1-2. Wellington Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvin Stor having to interfere. After the first half Pena were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Raí Rodrigues hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Edvin Stor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Ribeiro in the 54th minute of the match. Didi Baiano's late challenge caught a Pena's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Didi Baiano helped the player get up and apologised. Didi Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Ribeiro in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edvin Stor prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wellington Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wellington Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Edvin Stor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 71 played minutes ONLY MAMATA HAS NO END got a freekick which was hit by Duda Varela. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Peres in the 73rd minute of play forced Pena's goalkeeper Toninho Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of ONLY MAMATA HAS NO END booed when Pena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonçalo Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball.
