Donato Ramos came out of the goal and Germano Netto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eduardo Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Ramos having to interfere. Eduardo Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giuseppe Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte Perez having to interfere. Donato Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Pimenta in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduardo Pimenta to make the kick off. Igor Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Laerte Perez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 52 minutes into the game, Aílton Pimenta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CSP ESPORT CLUB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São Paulo FC the free kick. Igor Simão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute, São Paulo FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Germano Netto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Eduardo Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 79 minutes, Igor Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. São Paulo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Igor Simão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eduardo Pimenta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 91 minutes, Duda Carneiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the São Paulo FC and the CSP ESPORT CLUB players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for São Paulo FC! João Munhoz walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 97 minutes into the match, CSP ESPORT CLUB's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Simão came free, but Laerte Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The CSP ESPORT CLUB supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CSP ESPORT CLUB would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
