Juarês Alvarenga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of José Paulo Souto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 8 minutes into the match, Mizael E. C.'s goalkeeper José Paulo Souto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juarês Alvarenga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vânderson Tavares in the 11th minute of play forced Mizael E. C.'s goalkeeper José Paulo Souto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dé Silveira scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Costa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Mizael E. C. booed when Meaipe EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Lira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute Eriberto Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breno Melo in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vânderson Tavares in the 25th minute of play forced Mizael E. C.'s goalkeeper José Paulo Souto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Paulo Souto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juarês Alvarenga in the 26th minute. In the 28th minute, Dé Silveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Vânderson Tavares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vânderson Tavares in the 35th minute of play forced Mizael E. C.'s goalkeeper José Paulo Souto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Juarês Alvarenga made a precise shot to the right of José Paulo Souto. Mizael E. C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Luís Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dé Silveira in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Benê Torres cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Luís Costa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pedrão Ramos hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. In the 49th minute of the match, Chico Cabral sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but José Paulo Souto showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar.

José Paulo Souto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vânderson Tavares in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Chico Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meaipe EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Chico Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Paulo Souto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vânderson Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Paulo Souto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vânderson Tavares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute Vânderson Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Paulo Souto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Mizael E. C. defense, Juarês Alvarenga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Paulo Souto. The Mizael E. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Paulo Souto should have stopped the shot. If Juarês Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute Vânderson Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Paulo Souto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vânderson Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. José Paulo Souto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Although Meaipe EC had been in control for most of the match, Mizael E. C. still came away with the win.
