After some careless play in the Meaipe EC defense, Percy Ramos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Costa. The Meaipe EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Costa should have stopped the shot. In the 41st minute, Gilson Mota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juarês Alvarenga succeeded in the game's 45th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-4.

Rubens Barros's late challenge caught a Meaipe EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
