Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Jacus's Gilberto Fernandes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Fernandes in the 4th minute of play forced Nilopolis's goalkeeper Hélder Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Silvinho Medeiros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hélder Camargo was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Zézinho Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Dito Medeiros received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pedro Augusto Mangueira came out and tried to block the shot, but Dito Medeiros slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 14th minute. Dudu Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Pedro Augusto Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Jacus's Pedro Augusto Mangueira got control of the ball when Dito Medeiros tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dudu Dantas in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Augusto Mangueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dudu Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Augusto Mangueira having to interfere. Nilopolis's Dito Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacus's Pedro Augusto Mangueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Jacus from getting a goal against them. Dudu Dantas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Augusto Mangueira having to make a save. Dito Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th minute, Horácio Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nilopolis's Lauro Mandrak was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pedro Augusto Mangueira in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dudu Dantas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Nilopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Valladares to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute, Rafa Valladares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nilopolis's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Gilberto Fernandes scored to the left of an out of position Hélder Camargo, making the score, 2-1. Remo Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the game, Rafa Valladares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nilopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jacus the free kick. After 68 played minutes Nilopolis got a freekick which was hit by Rafa Valladares. Silvinho Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Hélder Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hélder Camargo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Fernandes in the 70th minute of the match. Silvinho Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Camargo having to interfere. Jacus's Pedro Augusto Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dudu Dantas in the 78th minute of play. Nilopolis's Dudu Dantas got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilberto Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Camargo having to interfere. In the 87th play minute Silvinho Medeiros came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hélder Camargo. 2-2. Nilopolis's Hélder Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Fernandes in the 91st minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Jacus's goal looked a bit too open when Dito Medeiros came free, but Pedro Augusto Mangueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
