The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Luís Nascimento during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eusébio de Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 27th minute, Murilo Linares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Maria Netto was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. If Kléberson Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kléberson Hermes might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eusébio de Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kléberson Hermes ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the União FlaMadrid defense, Murilo Linares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Maria Netto. The União FlaMadrid fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Maria Netto should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Emílio Paranaense might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eusébio de Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emílio Paranaense ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Garuva SC's Denílson Medeiros got a free kick in the 86th minute. Emílio Paranaense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eusébio de Amorim having to make a save. In the 88th match minute, Garuva SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jardel Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 91 minutes, Murilo Linares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garuva SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Murilo Linares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Egídio Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The União FlaMadrid support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
