Luisão Eger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ademir Ortiz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Ademir Ortiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robinho Araújo in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Bebeto Maciel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caimbombo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catole the free kick. A collision led to Caimbombo getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Bebeto Maciel hit a great ball. Luisão Eger's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ademir Ortiz firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Luisão Eger got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 25 minutes into the game, Serginho Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catole's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caimbombo the free kick. After 25 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Catole! The referee gave Caimbombo a penalty, 27 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tales Negri, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Catole's Júlio Costa. 0-1. In the 31st minute, Paulo Renato Mesquita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Júlio Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Ademir Ortiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robinho Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Júlio Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horácio Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Horácio Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Júlio Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luisão Eger struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Ademir Ortiz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catole. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Renato Mesquita was the one to do the kick off. Ademir Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robinho Araújo in the 53rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Caimbombo's Paulo Renato Mesquita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Júlio Costa. That made the score 0-3 after 57 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Renato Mesquita in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Júlio Costa saved Catole from getting behind. In the 66th minute Paulo Renato Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horácio Ortizs short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Júlio Costa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 72nd minute, Paulo Renato Mesquita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Júlio Costa. The goal made the score 0-4. After 77 minutes, Wilian Fernandez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Catole and the Caimbombo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Catole was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilian Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. Horácio Ortiz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Júlio Costa made a huge save. In the 82nd minute, Caimbombo's Paulo Renato Mesquita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Júlio Costa. Júlio Costa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. In the 85th of the match, Paulo Renato Mesquita tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Júlio Costa got in the way and made a wonderful save. Júlio Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulo Renato Mesquita's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. If Bebeto Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horácio Ortiz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Júlio Costa made a huge save. When the final whistle sounded Caimbombo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Catole.
