When Dagoberto Britto fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sabugi EC's protests and gave Dagoberto Britto a yellow card for diving instead. Dagoberto Britto kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 10th minute Frederico Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandrinho Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurinho Azevedo in the 26th minute of play. Anselmo Neto struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Válter Guedes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sabugi EC. 34 minutes into the match, Sabugi EC's goal looked a bit too open when Maurinho Azevedo came free, but Sandrinho Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th match minute, Sabugi EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Brito to maneuver through the defense. Sandrinho Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diguinho Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diguinho Ferreira in the 40th minute of play forced Sabugi EC's goalkeeper Sandrinho Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gildo Favoretto kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Sandrinho Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederico Diniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anselmo Neto made a kick off. After having played for 68 minutes, Anselmo Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sabugi EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Anselmo Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute Diguinho Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Válter Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Anselmo Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sabugi EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Neto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Válter Guedes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Deivid de Souza hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Sabugi EC's Anselmo Neto got a free kick in the 97th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
