Sandrinho Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Cabral in the 12th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldo de Azevedo got free with Sandrinho Galvão in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21stth minute of the game Luís Cabral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sabugi EC's Sandrinho Galvão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rui da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Sandrinho Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Ronaldo de Azevedo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sandrinho Galvão. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 31st minute, Estrellas's Claudinei Furlan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sandrinho Galvão. Sandrinho Galvão yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After having played for 37 minutes, Anselmo Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sabugi EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of Sabugi EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Estrellas:s goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldo de Azevedo got free with Sandrinho Galvão in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Thiago Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estrellas's supporters rose to their feet, but Thiago Maciel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sandrinho Galvão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Cabral in the 53rd minute of play forced Sabugi EC's goalkeeper Sandrinho Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Sabugi EC's goal looked a bit too open when Thiago Maciel came free, but Sandrinho Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Estrellas's goalkeeper Ezequiel Motta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 59 minutes into the game, Luiz Gustavo Meireles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estrellas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sabugi EC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Estrellas's Luiz Gustavo Meireles got a free kick in the 60th minute. Gilmar Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Rui da Rocha made a precise shot to the right of Sandrinho Galvão. Sabugi EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. The supporters of Sabugi EC booed when Estrellas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 73 minutes of play, Estrellas's Thiago Maciel made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sandrinho Galvão was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sabugi EC's Sandrinho Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Cabral in the 83rd minute of play. If Claudinei Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felippe da Mata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Ezequiel Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sabugi EC's zone, Ronaldo de Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sandrinho Galvão came out of the goal and Ronaldo de Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sabugi EC's Sandrinho Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thiago Maciel in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute Rui da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Estrellas fully deserved thier win.
