Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when José Augusto de Medeiros kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd match minute, Grêmio F.B.P.A was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. The attack was good, but when José Maria Pena in the 5th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Jean Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Jean Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilmar Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jean Leme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilmar Eger in the 20th minute of the match. José Maria Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulinho Camargo having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Grêmio F.B.P.A's Gilmar Eger nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jean Leme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 27 minutes, José Augusto de Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FLAMENGO FC.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but José Augusto de Medeiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FLAMENGO FC.'s Jean Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wellington Abraão in the 30th minute of play. José Maria Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulinho Camargo having to interfere. If José Maria Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulinho Camargo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Augusto de Medeiros's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Jean Leme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilmar Eger's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. If Gilmar Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Ricardinho Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Paulinho Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulinho Camargo came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by FLAMENGO FC.'s José Augusto de Medeiros. But to his dismay, José Augusto de Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Wellington Abraão came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Grêmio F.B.P.A fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wellington Abraão couldn't finish the play. Gilmar Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean Leme having to interfere. Jean Leme made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Wellington Abraão sent off a good shot on target. José Augusto de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulinho Camargo having to interfere. Wellington Abraão in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jean Leme, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. But to his dismay, Luiz Fábio Vale quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Gilmar Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean Leme having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Gilmar Eger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulinho Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Maria Pena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute of the match Giovanni Guerra sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulinho Camargo skillfully saved the ball. When José Maria Pena came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the FLAMENGO FC. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Maria Pena couldn't finish the play. The Grêmio F.B.P.A supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Grêmio F.B.P.A would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
