Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiago Zanette in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osvaldinho Cunha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexandre Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anderson Maciel in the 7th minute of play. Claudinho Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldinho Cunha having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronaldinho Vieira during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 10 played minutes Tonantins got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldinho Vieira. In the 13th minute of the match, Juarês Severo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Osvaldinho Cunha saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Renato Xavier fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tonantins's protests and gave Renato Xavier a yellow card for diving instead. Renato Xavier hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Alexandre Botelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osmar Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexandre Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldinho Vieira in the 23rd minute of the match. Claudinho Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldinho Cunha having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, Juarês Severo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Osvaldinho Cunha. Juarês Severo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinho Freire got free with Osvaldinho Cunha in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juarês Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Juarês Severo to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Valério Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lagradouro SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tonantins the free kick. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lagradouro SC! After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Juarês Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lagradouro SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Juarês Severo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldinho Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osmar Valladares got free with Alexandre Botelho in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juarês Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 67 minutes, Juarês Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lagradouro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juarês Severo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Juarês Severo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Osvaldinho Cunha was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. After recieving a nice pass, Lagradouro SC's Claudinho Freire tried to score from far away in the 70th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Osmar Valladares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 85thth minute tested the skills of Alexandre Botelho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 86 minutes into the match, Tonantins's goal looked a bit too open when Juarês Severo came free, but Osvaldinho Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudinho Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juarês Severo in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osvaldinho Cunha saved Tonantins from getting behind. Luiz Eduardo de Sena's late challenge caught a Lagradouro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Eduardo de Sena helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd match minute, Tonantins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Eduardo de Sena to maneuver through the defense.
