Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ivo dos Santos got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Acácio Quirino in the 5th minute of play forced Hail Rio Preto's goalkeeper Joel Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Guedes was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Acácio Quirino capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Acácio Quirino really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. If Luís Fabiano Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Acácio Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Guedes having to interfere. After some careless play in the Traipu defense, Ivo dos Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Felippe Marinho. The Traipu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Felippe Marinho should have stopped the shot. After having played for 40 minutes, Elói Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hail Rio Preto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elói Mattos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st match minute, Traipu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hortêncio Rocha to maneuver through the defense.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Acácio Quirino made a kick off. Traipu's Felippe Marinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivo dos Santos in the 54th minute of play. When Ivo dos Santos came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Hail Rio Preto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivo dos Santos couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Hail Rio Preto booed when Traipu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. Acácio Quirino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joel Guedes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Acácio Quirino in the 72nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivo dos Santos in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felippe Marinho saved Traipu from getting behind. Traipu's Acácio Quirino got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Acácio Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute Ivo dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felippe Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hail Rio Preto's Elói Mattos got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Traipu's Hortêncio Rocha pulled a muscle in his back after 88 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to Hail Rio Preto getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Elói Mattos hit a great ball. When Albertinho Coelho came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Traipu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albertinho Coelho couldn't finish the play. 96 minutes into the match, Ivo dos Santos notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Traipu's Felippe Marinho. Felippe Marinho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chants of Hail Rio Preto echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Traipu had held the ball for most of the match.
