The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eduardo Oliveira got free with Raphael de Alcântara in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabrício Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gugu Cearense in the 14th minute of the match. After having played for 19 minutes, José Pedro Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RAZONETE FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Pedro Passos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eduardo Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raphael de Alcântara having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Eduardo Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eduardo Oliveira struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Raphael de Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RAZONETE FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hortêncio de Alcântara during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 24th minute, Hortêncio de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, RAZONETE FC's Leandro Martins got a free kick in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Gugu Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tacaimbe SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Gugu Cearense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabrício Recife breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. During the 36th minute of the match Hortêncio de Alcântara completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Hortêncio de Alcântara a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 37th match minute, Tacaimbe SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hortêncio de Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. Tacaimbe SS's goalkeeper couldn't reach when José Pedro Passos 40 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. 44 minutes into the match, Tacaimbe SS's goal looked a bit too open when José Pedro Passos came free, but Raphael de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabrício Recife showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raphael Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eduardo Oliveira was the one to do the kick off. Virgílio Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raphael de Alcântara having to interfere. Tiaguinho Jacinto hit a great ball. Fabrício Recife acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 76th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dário Maranhense. Virgílio Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Leandro Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
