Gernando Sá struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Denílson Paraíba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaim SS. Itaim SS's Gernando Sá got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd match minute, Itaim SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovani Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. Christian Koehler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Denílson Paraíba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gernando Sá couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the game, Lino Monteiro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Haroldo Pires. Lino Monteiro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After having played for 42 minutes, Gernando Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itaim SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gernando Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denílson Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gernando Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christian Koehler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denílson Paraíba having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Durval Domingues made a kick off. The supporters of caverna de adulão booed when Itaim SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Quaresma didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 55 minutes, Maurício Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. caverna de adulão's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurício Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Haroldo Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Vides, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 64th minute of the match Maurício Rosa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Haroldo Pires skillfully saved the ball. In the 66th minute Sebastião Vides shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
