When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Vivaldo Mattos took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Valdomiro Travassos to make any attempt to save it. When Vivaldo Mattos came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Jupiranga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vivaldo Mattos couldn't finish the play. Kléber Borges kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Kléber Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jupiranga's supporters rose to their feet, but Kléber Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdomiro Travassos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vivaldo Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rodolfo Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jupiranga were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Lobao SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nildo Bezerra took the corner. The corner ended in Nildo Bezerra almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Lobao SC's Valdomiro Travassos did a great save. If Vivaldo Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kléber Borges in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdomiro Travassos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Jupiranga's Ruy Paiva got a free kick in the 66th minute. Alex Meireles's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Wesley Simões firmly grabbed it by the left post. Vivaldo Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdomiro Travassos having to interfere. With a little luck, Jupiranga's Wesley Simões got control of the ball when Alex Meireles tried to sneak it across the goal line.
