Cleiton Freitas started the match with the kick off. Dráusio Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Eduardo Brasil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caranahyba SC's Cássio Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renatinho Pereira in the 9th minute of play. Cássio Senna was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Conrado de Carvalho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Conrado de Carvalho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When Franklin Faria fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gamelleiras's protests and gave Franklin Faria a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gamelleiras's Franklin Faria got a free kick in the 26th minute. Eduardo Brasil struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. José Carlos Cardozo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caranahyba SC. Conrado de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Gamelleiras's goal looked a bit too open when Cleiton Freitas came free, but José Carlos Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cleiton Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. José Carlos Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Renatinho Pereira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eduardo Brasil might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Carlos Cardozo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eduardo Brasil ran back to his position shaking his head. Rafinha Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Gamelleiras defense, Eduardo Brasil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Carlos Cardozo. The Gamelleiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Carlos Cardozo should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd match minute, Caranahyba SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christiano Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. Cássio Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The supporters of Gamelleiras booed when Caranahyba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dráusio Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Christiano Trancoso fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caranahyba SC's protests and gave Christiano Trancoso a yellow card for diving instead. 69 minutes into the match, Gamelleiras's Franklin Faria broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Cássio Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renatinho Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Conrado de Carvalho's late challenge caught a Caranahyba SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conrado de Carvalho helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Caranahyba SC booed when Gamelleiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute of the match, Eduardo Brasil got a very nice opportunity to score, but José Carlos Cardozo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 82 minutes of play, Gamelleiras's Renatinho Pereira made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cássio Senna was left in no man's land by his defense there! Conrado de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio Senna having to interfere. The Gamelleiras support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
