The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vágner Dias during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vágner Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. When Chicão Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Azulão fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chicão Veloso couldn't finish the play. Azulão's Mané Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Nogueira in the 13th minute of play. Mané Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Soares in the 14th minute of play. Azulão's Vágner Dias pulled a muscle in his back after 16 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Faustão dos Santos's late challenge caught a Azulão's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Faustão dos Santos helped the player get up and apologised. Chicão Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonels FC's Cido Varela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Leonels FC from getting a goal against them. In the 25th match minute, Leonels FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Guilherme Cerezo to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the game, Chicão Veloso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Cido Varela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Azulão's Mané Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Guilherme Cerezo in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute Fausto Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Durval Soares sped through Azulão's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mané Valle. Leonels FC's attack was well implemented in the 41st minute, but when Durval Soares was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Fausto Nogueira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mané Valle having to make a save. Fausto Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Mané Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chicão Veloso to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chicão Veloso in the 54th minute of play forced Leonels FC's goalkeeper Cido Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Durval Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enio Duarte charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enio Duarte the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Leonels FC booed when Azulão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enio Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Soares in the 59th minute of play forced Azulão's goalkeeper Mané Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61stth minute of the game Durval Soares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Azulão's Mané Valle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 64 minutes of play, Leonels FC's Fausto Nogueira made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mané Valle was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 67th minute Durval Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cido Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chicão Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After a rather tough play, Leonels FC's Luís Guilherme Cerezo got a free kick in the 76th minute. Leonels FC's Cido Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chicão Veloso in the 79th minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Durval Soares recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mané Valle. Durval Soares showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Fausto Nogueira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mané Valle having to make a save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Leonels FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
