The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Inácio Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Vera in the 3rd minute of play. If Diego Vera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diego Vera scored 0-2 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Inácio Rodrigues, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Oswaldo Eger took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Inácio Rodrigues. Santos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. José Augusto Zilles charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Augusto Zilles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 16 played minutes Jubai EC got a freekick which was hit by José Augusto Zilles. 18 minutes into the game, Denílson Berger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jubai EC the free kick. Denílson Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Diego Vera took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Inácio Rodrigues. Inácio Rodrigues dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. A hard shot 26 in the game by Vito Mota from a close distance when the talented Armindo Lucas managed to make a qualified save. Jubai EC's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Jubai EC's João Augusto da Costa got a free kick in the 27th minute. A collision led to Jubai EC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Wágner Soares hit a great ball. Cesinha Moreno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Armindo Lucas made a huge save. Carlos Dracena kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Jubai EC's Wágner Soares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Inácio Rodrigues narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Diego Vera took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Inácio Rodrigues. Inácio Rodrigues dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Vitinho Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inácio Rodrigues having to interfere. Arnoldo Erlantz kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Armindo Lucas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 46th match minute, Jubai EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Erlantz to maneuver through the defense. The Santos FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jubai EC were winning 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardo Baptista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Wilson Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Queiroz in the 54th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Inácio Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Vera couldn't finish the play. Diego Vera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Inácio Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inácio Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Vera in the 61st minute of the match. Diego Vera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Inácio Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 minutes, Vito Mota mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santos FC and the Jubai EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vitinho Queirozs short, quick shot in the 91stth minute got Inácio Rodrigues to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 92 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Vera came free, but Inácio Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Vera in the 95th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Inácio Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jubai EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
