Kléber Dracena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alan Paraibano in the 9th minute. Renato Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Peres in the 12th minute of the match. Alan Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bruno Negri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Dieguinho Godoi fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ataque Campeão Futebol's protests and gave Dieguinho Godoi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ataque Campeão Futebol getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Dieguinho Godoi hit a great ball. Renato Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Botelho in the 31st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ataque Campeão Futebol's Enéas Dantas got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After taking down the ball on Varzea's corner Rodrigo Medeiros fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Renato Sena quite easily take care of the ball. César Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Renato Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Varzea's César Botelho in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ataque Campeão Futebol's goalie prevented a goal. Renatinho Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. When César Botelho came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Varzea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that César Botelho couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers César Botelho in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renato Sena saved Ataque Campeão Futebol from getting behind. After the first half Varzea were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. César Botelho was the one to do the kick off. After 57 minutes, Marco Branco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ataque Campeão Futebol and the Varzea players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ataque Campeão Futebol's Marco Branco got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 58th match minute, Ataque Campeão Futebol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Paulo Pitta to maneuver through the defense. Renato Sena was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rodrigo Medeiros. Bruno Negri struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Kléber Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ataque Campeão Futebol. Varzea's Kléber Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Negri in the 63rd minute of play. Alan Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléber Dracena having to interfere. Pedro Paulo Pitta charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Paulo Pitta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ataque Campeão Futebol's Pedro Paulo Pitta got a free kick in the 68th minute. A collision led to Ataque Campeão Futebol getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Renatinho Arantes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Botelho in the 79th minute of play forced Ataque Campeão Futebol's goalkeeper Renato Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute, Bruno Negri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ataque Campeão Futebol fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Bruno Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alan Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Varzea's goalkeeper Kléber Dracena, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
