After a rather tough play, Preguica's Luiz Eduardo Freire got a free kick in the 6th minute. Gino Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almir Barros having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Preguica's goal looked a bit too open when Afonsinho Bittencourt came free, but Tomás de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Jairo Abraão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomás de Souza.
