Vivaldo Britto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudinho França during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Assungui EC booed when Jati AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho França didn't get a good kick on the ball. Assungui EC's Maicon Jacinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente Pinho in the 24th minute of play. Pedro Luiz Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 36th play minutes Clemente Pinho shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Maicon Jacinto and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 44th minute Pedro Luiz Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maicon Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Agnaldo Melo was the one to do the kick off. After 72 played minutes, Jati AD's Marcel Tepedino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Maicon Jacinto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jati AD reached it. The goalkeeper, Maicon Jacinto, was totally fooled by Jati AD's Eurico Arantes, who 77 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 83 minutes into the match, Assungui EC's goalkeeper Maicon Jacinto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clemente Pinho. Clemente Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maicon Jacinto having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Assungui EC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luiz Botelho came free, but Maicon Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 97 played minutes Jati AD got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Pinho. Jati AD's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
