The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Annapolis's defense didn't have a chance, in the 6th minute, when Tiago Gabriel Simões scored to the left of an out of position Guilherme Gomes, making the score, 1-0. Tiago Gabriel Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guilherme Gomes having to interfere. Edvaldo Mangueira hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute, Hélder Neto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Warriors FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Hélder Neto was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 16th minute. Warriors FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Sérgio Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Warriors FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sérgio Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guilherme Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute, Silas Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 22 played minutes, Annapolis's Percy Coutinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zé Pedro Matos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Annapolis reached it. Zé Pedro Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Annapolis's goalkeeper Guilherme Gomes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Annapolis's goalkeeper Guilherme Gomes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sérgio Teixeira. Guilherme Gomes stood somewhat misplaced when Tiago Gabriel Simões came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 31 minute. 36 minutes into the match, Warriors FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Silveira came free, but Zé Pedro Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Fellipe Marques kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Guilherme Gomes. That made the score 4-0 in the 40 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo Mangueira in the 44th minute of play forced Warriors FC's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Annapolis's Luizão Pires shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 70th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Zé Pedro Matos but with some difficulty. The supporters of Annapolis booed when Warriors FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Warriors FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ernesto Silveira 76 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-2. In the 81st match minute, Annapolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aílton Vieira to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo Mangueira in the 93rd minute of play forced Warriors FC's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guilherme Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Annapolis's zone, Fellipe Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guilherme Gomes came out of the goal and Fellipe Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Warriors FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
