An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovani Veiga in the 3rd minute of play forced Itapissuma's goalkeeper Rubinho Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Glauco Mendes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Rubinho Medeiros when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Geovani Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geovani Veiga during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th minute, Geovani Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Garrão de Potro FC's Glauco Mendes got a free kick in the 11th minute. After some careless play in the Garrão de Potro FC defense, Leandro Schmidt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zacarias Vinhas. The Garrão de Potro FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zacarias Vinhas should have stopped the shot. In the 14th minute, Leandro Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Garrão de Potro FC booed when Itapissuma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmyr Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Itapissuma's goal looked a bit too open when Geovani Veiga came free, but Rubinho Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Walmyr Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the match, Garrão de Potro FC's Douglas Linares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rubinho Medeiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rubinho Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Glauco Mendes sent off a good shot on target. Geovani Veiga struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Rubinho Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garrão de Potro FC. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

With a little luck, Garrão de Potro FC's Zacarias Vinhas got control of the ball when Leandro Schmidt tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 57th minute, Telmo da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Glauco Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Garrão de Potro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Glauco Mendes couldn't finish the play. In the 72nd minute Glauco Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rubinho Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovani Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute, Geovani Veiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 77 minutes, Alex da Silva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itapissuma and the Garrão de Potro FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Itapissuma getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Alex da Silva hit a great ball. Zacarias Vinhas was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Walmyr Penha showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 80 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Garrão de Potro FC's Douglas Linares got a free kick in the 87th minute. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Leandro Schmidt got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Geovani Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Walmyr Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapissuma's supporters rose to their feet, but Walmyr Penha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zacarias Vinhas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Garrão de Potro FC's zone, Leandro Schmidt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zacarias Vinhas came out of the goal and Leandro Schmidt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lauro Abreu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 97th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The Itapissuma supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Itapissuma would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
