André Duarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Carlos Augusto Santos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of André Duarte. Taquaretinga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Augusto Santos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 25th match minute, Taquaretinga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Castro to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the game, Duarte Paraíba recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bernardo Carvalho. Duarte Paraíba showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Bernardo Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Duarte Paraíbas short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Bernardo Carvalho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 40 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Taquaretinga's Duarte Paraíba fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 42nd minute Sílvio Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sílvio Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Pompeia's Fred Souza suffered a concussion after 52 minutes and had to leave the field. When Artur Galvão fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taquaretinga's protests and gave Artur Galvão a yellow card for diving instead. Artur Galvão hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Taquaretinga's Duarte Paraíba got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Duarte Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Pompeia's Samuca França got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Chicão Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chicão Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chicão Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Sílvio Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Carvalho having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, Pompeia's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Torres came free, but Bernardo Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Taquaretinga's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
