Atafona SS's Rony Bueno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cauan Pimenta in the 31st minute of play. In the 35th match minute, Atafona SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Hermes to maneuver through the defense. 40 minutes into the game, one of Neurônios EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Rony Bueno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cauan Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. If Eriberto de Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Neurônios EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Téo Abraão should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cauan Pimenta to make the kick off. Rony Bueno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cauan Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The supporters of Neurônios EC booed when Atafona SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball.
