Trempes's Dorian Secco got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dorian Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio Cabral having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Dorian Secco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horácio Cabral was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Polungu SS's zone, Dorian Secco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horácio Cabral came out of the goal and Dorian Secco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sidney Dantas struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Horácio Cabral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trempes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvério Capixaba in the 23rd minute of play forced Trempes's goalkeeper Frédson Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horácio Cabral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dorian Secco's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. A collision led to Polungu SS getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Clóvis Mangueira hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Polungu SS's zone, Sidney Dantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The Trempes fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Trempes's Dorian Secco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Silvério Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frédson Barral having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Váldson Guerra in the 41st minute of play forced Polungu SS's goalkeeper Horácio Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Polungu SS's Silvério Capixaba got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Trempes getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Sidney Dantas hit a great ball. After the first half Trempes were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Silvério Capixaba to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Silvério Capixaba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frédson Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trempes made a substitution. Anísio Cruz replaced Gláuber Magalhães. Dorian Secco in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Horácio Cabral, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorian Secco in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horácio Cabral saved Polungu SS from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Silvério Capixaba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Polungu SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvério Capixaba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frédson Barral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Luís Fábio de Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Polungu SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Fábio de Azevedo couldn't finish the play. Dorian Secco in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Horácio Cabral, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Horácio Cabral showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 94th minute, Sidney Dantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dorian Secco might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Horácio Cabral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dorian Secco ran back to his position shaking his head. Trempes's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
