The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Itapororoca's Durval Campidelis got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nildo Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 10 played minutes HARDCORE F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ricardinho Senna. Durval Campidelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silas Braga having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Nildo Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapororoca's supporters rose to their feet, but Nildo Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silas Braga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Washington Varela during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to HARDCORE F.C. getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Washington Varela hit a great ball. Silas Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Campidelis in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, HARDCORE F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Durval Campidelis came free, but Silas Braga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in HARDCORE F.C.'s zone, Durval Campidelis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silas Braga came out of the goal and Durval Campidelis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardinho Senna made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Nildo Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silas Braga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Durval Campidelis notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of HARDCORE F.C.'s Silas Braga. Silas Braga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 57th minute, Durval Campidelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Róbson Paes fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored HARDCORE F.C.'s protests and gave Róbson Paes a yellow card for diving instead. 60 minutes into the game, one of HARDCORE F.C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Nildo Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Durvalino Vander came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Itapororoca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durvalino Vander couldn't finish the play. Valdo Alves struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Marcinho Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HARDCORE F.C.. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind HARDCORE F.C.'s goalkeeper Silas Braga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to HARDCORE F.C. getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Geovânio Hoffmann hit a great ball. After 92 played minutes HARDCORE F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jean Proença. If Nildo Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nildo Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
