Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dráuzio Paraíba took the kick off in the first half of the match. Augusto Toledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Luiz Cunha made a huge save. A collision led to Ouro Negro getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Fernando Passos hit a great ball. Augusto Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Malhadas booed when Ouro Negro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lenílson Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Malhadas's Luiz Cunha threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dráuzio Paraíba, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nuno Campidelis charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nuno Campidelis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th minute, Dráuzio Paraíba reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Luiz Cunha. The goal made the score 1-0. Fernando Passos charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernando Passos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th match minute, Ouro Negro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Passos to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute Dráuzio Paraíba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 played minutes Malhadas got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Campidelis. Lenílson Figueiredo might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nilson Faria. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lenílson Figueiredo ran back to his position shaking his head. If Lenílson Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Malhadas's Dráuzio Paraíba got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nuno Campidelis struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Luiz Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malhadas. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Teles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Augusto Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Cunha having to interfere. Luiz Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Toledo in the 59th minute of the match. Fernando Passos was shown his second yellow card after 60 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 61 played minutes Ouro Negro got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Passos. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Dráuzio Paraíba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malhadas's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráuzio Paraíba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dráuzio Paraíba blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Cunha having to make a save. Malhadas's Nilson Faria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Malhadas from getting a goal against them. Dráuzio Paraíba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Augusto Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Malhadas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Toledo couldn't finish the play. In the 96th match minute, Malhadas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Campidelis to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Malhadas fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ouro Negro had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
