In the 3rd match minute, Frois EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Augusto Simão to maneuver through the defense. Válter Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nelson Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Wágner Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute, Adalmo Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valdir Simão struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Nelson Nunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraná FC. David Novaes made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Vítor Faria in the 26th minute. Nelson Nunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Valdir Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Valdir Simão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nelson Nunes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Wágner Diniz charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wágner Diniz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Paraná FC's Wágner Diniz got a free kick in the 36th minute. Wágner Diniz struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Nelson Nunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraná FC. Paraná FC's Wágner Diniz got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Vítor Faria's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but David Novaes firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Valdir Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alberto Veiga to strike the kick off in the second half. Valdir Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Nunes having to interfere. David Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Veiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. A collision led to Frois EC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Giovani Garcia hit a great ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Valdir Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraná FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdir Simão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wágner Diniz in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nelson Nunes saved Frois EC from getting behind. After 62 played minutes Paraná FC got a freekick which was hit by Túlio Pernambucano. 67 minutes into the match, Frois EC's goal looked a bit too open when Valdir Simão came free, but Nelson Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evaristo Marinho lost his temper 68 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 68th minute, one of Paraná FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Paraná FC. In the 70th minute there was a penalty for Frois EC. Hudson Simão stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving David Novaes. 1-1. Valdir Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Válter Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Nelson Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Adalmo Dias reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nelson Nunes. The goal made the score 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Amauri Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraná FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Amauri Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelson Nunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Válter Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wágner Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Nelson Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Válter Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Nunes having to interfere. Paraná FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
