Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Marcinho Tavares took the kick off in the first half of the match. Silvinho Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcinho Tavares in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dagoberto Batista saved Jacareipe from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Marcinho Tavares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dagoberto Batista was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. After 8 played minutes Jacareipe got a freekick which was hit by Edson Borges. In the 11th minute, Marcinho Tavares made a precise shot to the right of Dagoberto Batista. Jacareipe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Túlio Araújo fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jacareipe's protests and gave Túlio Araújo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Jacareipe getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Túlio Araújo hit a great ball. Jacareipe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Metropolitano the free kick.

In the 54thth minute of the game Marcinho Tavares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jacareipe's Dagoberto Batista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jacareipe's João Francisco Brodel got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Túlio Araújo got his second yellow card in the match during the 60th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Frédson Moura kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 67thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Jacareipe's keeper Dagoberto Batista was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. With a little luck, Jacareipe's Dagoberto Batista got control of the ball when Frédson Moura tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Metropolitano players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
