The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dinei Marinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Gino Lago made a huge save. Yuri de Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franklin de Brito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th minute Yuri de Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franklin de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franklin de Brito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yuri de Castro's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuri de Castro in the 22nd minute of play forced Turbonegro's goalkeeper Franklin de Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Franklin de Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Gilboes booed when Turbonegro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franklin de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yuri de Castro in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franklin de Brito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Franklin de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuri de Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The supporters of Gilboes booed when Turbonegro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jano Donato didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuri de Castro in the 46th minute of play forced Turbonegro's goalkeeper Franklin de Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ademar Lopez to make the kick off. Gino Lago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademar Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Franklin de Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Yuri de Castros short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Franklin de Brito to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Yuri de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Vítor Hoffmann came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Gilboes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Hoffmann couldn't finish the play. Vítor Hoffmann might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Franklin de Brito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vítor Hoffmann ran back to his position shaking his head. Yuri de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 89th minute by Yuri de Castro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Franklin de Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor Hoffmann in the 91st minute of the match. 92 minutes into the game, Toninho Borges was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Turbonegro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gilboes the free kick. In the 92nd match minute, Turbonegro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Borges to maneuver through the defense. 0-3 became the score in the 94th minute when Vítor Hoffmann elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Gilboes's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
