With a little luck, Aguacuzinho AD's Dorival Meireles got control of the ball when Abelardo Siqueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 21 played minutes, SOROCABA FC's Valdomiro Palmeira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dorival Meireles came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SOROCABA FC reached it. In the 22nd minute, Abelardo Siqueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Mazinho Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SOROCABA FC's Abelardo Siqueira got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abelardo Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival Meireles having to interfere. Dorival Meireles made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Abelardo Siqueira sent off a good shot on target. If Cláudio Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hílton Eger during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SOROCABA FC's Hílton Eger got a free kick in the 46th minute. Andrézinho Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Júnior Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cláudio Perez was the one to do the kick off. SOROCABA FC's Júnior Corrêa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save SOROCABA FC from getting a goal against them. Cláudio Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Dorival Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SOROCABA FC's Júnior Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Paulo Toscano in the 58th minute of play. When Cláudio Perez came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the SOROCABA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cláudio Perez couldn't finish the play. If João Paulo Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrézinho Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cláudio Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival Meireles having to interfere. Dorival Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Perez in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind SOROCABA FC's goalkeeper Júnior Corrêa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Hílton Eger was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 88 minutes had been played. Hílton Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After having played for 92 minutes, João Paulo Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aguacuzinho AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Paulo Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abelardo Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival Meireles having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
