The Matutagem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Duarte couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute Elias Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel de Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodriguinho Valladares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorival Brodel in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute, Elias Duarte made a precise shot to the right of Daniel de Carvalho. Valencia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some careless play in the Matutagem defense, Nando Linares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodriguinho Valladares. The Matutagem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodriguinho Valladares should have stopped the shot. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Matutagem walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
