Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Wilton Prado took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel de Lara in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Célio Neves saved Meridium United from getting behind. Wilton Prado scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Célio Neves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 24 minutes of play, Meridium United's José Maria Lucas made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aníbal Silveira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Miguel de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Célio Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Célio Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel de Lara in the 36th minute of play. Célio Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilton Prado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Carlos da Mata hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Varzeado's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Telmo Baptista was slow to take the kick. During this time Meridium United's players had a chance to rest. Telmo Baptista made a great header on Meridium United's corner, it was just that Varzeado's Aníbal Silveira managed to reach the ball for a save. Meridium United's Célio Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilton Prado in the 56th minute of play. After 57 played minutes Meridium United got a freekick which was hit by Dito da Fonseca. Wilton Prado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Célio Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Ciro Travassos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Aníbal Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artur Severo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Célio Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Meridium United's José Maria Lucas got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st minute, one of Meridium United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Meridium United. Juninho Ortiz shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Célio Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilton Prado, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 81 minutes into the game, Miguel de Lara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Célio Neves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Wilton Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varzeado's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilton Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Célio Neves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel de Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Neves having to interfere. Alex de Salles hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Miguel de Lara kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 97thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Meridium United's keeper Célio Neves was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. When the final whistle sounded Varzeado left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Meridium United.
