Lenílson Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Paraibano in the 28th minute of play forced Mapixy AD's goalkeeper Lenílson Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júlio Vieira got free with Lenílson Baptista in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leopoldo Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anísio Hermes in the 34th minute of the match. If Anísio Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Anísio Hermes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mapixy AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Leopoldo Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anísio Hermes in the 47th minute of the match. The Caracois players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mapixy AD were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Umberto Paraibano made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anísio Hermes got free with Leopoldo Cunha in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 53rd minute of the match Fernando da Costa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lenílson Baptista showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Caracois's Gildo Seco got a free kick in the 54th minute. Júlio Vieira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lenílson Baptista having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Mapixy AD's Anselmo Guimarães got a free kick in the 58th minute. If Anísio Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. Anísio Hermes ran back to his position shaking his head. Lenílson Baptista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Umberto Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cícero Braga hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Vieira in the 84th minute of play forced Mapixy AD's goalkeeper Lenílson Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anísio Hermes kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Júlio Vieira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lenílson Baptista was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. The Mapixy AD players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
