With a little luck, SE CNB's Luiz Fabiano Goiano got control of the ball when Genílson Pinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Angelo Esteves put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Simão Vargas. Simão Vargas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gláuber Dante in the 18th minute of play. When Paraju's Renan Quirino in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SE CNB's goalie prevented a goal. The Paraju fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Paraju's Renan Quirino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 27th minute, Genílson Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Manoel Madureira's late challenge caught a Paraju's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manoel Madureira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SE CNB's Manoel Madureira got a free kick in the 30th minute. Renan Quirino struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Luiz Fabiano Goiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraju. 37 minutes into the game, Angelo Esteves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Simão Vargas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renan Quirino in the 43rd minute of play forced SE CNB's goalkeeper Luiz Fabiano Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Genílson Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 53rd match minute, SE CNB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manoel Madureira to maneuver through the defense. Genílson Pinho struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Angelo Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simão Vargas was a little too slow when Gláuber Dante got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 1-3. Angelo Esteves scored 1-4 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Simão Vargas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Simão Vargas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gláuber Dante, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After a rather tough play, Paraju's Geraldo Dracena got a free kick in the 76th minute. If Gláuber Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 85 minutes, Gláuber Dante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SE CNB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gláuber Dante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to SE CNB getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Emanuel Brasil hit a great ball. The SE CNB supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SE CNB would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
