The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Didi do Valle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from César Fernandez went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Poeirama getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Leandro Mangueira hit a great ball. After 8 played minutes Babi got a freekick which was hit by Ricardinho Pernambucano. Carlos Garcia hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Marcelo Faria was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ricardinho Pernambucano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 13 minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Fernão Arce was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poeirama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Babi the free kick. After 17 played minutes Poeirama got a freekick which was hit by Fernão Arce. In the 23rd minute César Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didi do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacinto Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Didi do Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Fernandez in the 36th minute of play. Didi do Valle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of César Fernandez's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Babi's zone, César Fernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Didi do Valle came out of the goal and César Fernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evandro Vale to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match Ademir Linares shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Didi do Valle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Babi's Didi do Valle got control of the ball when Laerte Simões tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juarês Brasil kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Laerte Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Didi do Valle having to interfere. In the 62nd match minute, Babi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luís Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute of the match Manoel Seco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Didi do Valle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Didi do Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Mangueira in the 65th minute of the match. If César Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laerte Simões's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Didi do Valle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Babi's Didi do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by César Fernandez in the 71st minute of play. Didi do Valle made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Laerte Simões sent off a good shot on target. After 79 minutes of play, Poeirama's Carlos Garcia made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Didi do Valle was left in no man's land by his defense there! Didi do Valle made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Laerte Simões sent off a good shot on target. 95 minutes into the game, Eduardo Rosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Babi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poeirama the free kick. The long shot by Manoel Seco in the 96th minute really tested Didi do Valle's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Poeirama's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
