After some careless play in the Barrera AD defense, Rodolfo Abreu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jeferson Passos. The Barrera AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeferson Passos should have stopped the shot. 23 minutes into the match, Barrera AD's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Abreu came free, but Jeferson Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Acácio Proença made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lenílson Mattos in the 29th minute. Barrera AD's Jeferson Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Abreu in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st play minute Ronaldinho Perez came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Acácio Proença. 1-2. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo José Tasso to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Guilherme Guimarães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barrera AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Baianopolis SS the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 52nd minute of the game. One of Barrera AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Baianopolis SS:s goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Rodolfo Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baianopolis SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Abreu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeferson Passos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 60 minutes, Paulo José Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barrera AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo José Tasso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Acácio Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo José Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute Paulo José Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Acácio Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Lenílson Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeferson Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Rocha in the 75th minute of the match. Acácio Proença came out of the goal and Ronaldinho Perez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Acácio Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo José Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Rodolfo Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Jeferson Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rodolfo Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baianopolis SS's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
