Vítor Barros's late challenge caught a Soc. Esportiva Água Verde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tostão Bezerra to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Gil Simões's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enéas Novaes was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game.
