The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With 5 minutes on the clock, Eriberto Duarte commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in T. L. G. FL fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 4th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Bernowarriors FC a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Manuel Torres, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of T. L. G. FL's Renato Camargo. 0-1. A hard shot by Tadeu Fernandez from long distance, 15 minutes into the match, got Enéas Novaes's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 16 played minutes T. L. G. FL got a freekick which was hit by Tadeu Fernandez. The supporters of T. L. G. FL booed when Bernowarriors FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renato Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tostão Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chicão de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Renato Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reginaldo Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chicão de Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Camargo having to interfere. Chicão de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Renato Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Bernowarriors FC's zone, Reginaldo Ceresso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enéas Novaes came out of the goal and Reginaldo Ceresso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Bernowarriors FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tostão Bezerra made a kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind T. L. G. FL's goalkeeper Renato Camargo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 58 minutes, Carlinhos de Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. T. L. G. FL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlinhos de Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Reginaldo Ceresso came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the T. L. G. FL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reginaldo Ceresso couldn't finish the play. Enéas Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginaldo Ceresso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernowarriors FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tostão Bezerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Renato Camargo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor Barros in the 94th minute of the match. After 95 minutes, Chicão de Moraes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bernowarriors FC and the T. L. G. FL players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Bernowarriors FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Chicão de Moraes hit a great ball. The Bernowarriors FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented T. L. G. FL from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
