Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Valério Batista got the match started through his kick off. Leopoldo de Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Arati's zone, Sandrinho Furlan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doriva Santana came out of the goal and Sandrinho Furlan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sandrinho Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Doriva Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Mecanibais booed when Arati was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valério Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Arati's Valério Batista got a free kick in the 18th minute. Mecanibais's Abel Batista couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 19th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Arati. Sandrinho Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 23 played minutes Arati got a freekick which was hit by Valério Batista. Sandrinho Furlan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Doriva Santana made a huge save. If Sandrinho Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Arati getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Gláuber Albuquerque hit a great ball. When Valério Batista came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Arati fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valério Batista couldn't finish the play. Rodriguinho Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Britto having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Valério Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arati's supporters rose to their feet, but Valério Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dário Britto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpected shot in the 48th minute by Sandrinho Furlan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manoel Lara to strike the kick off in the second half. Doriva Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Furlan, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Sandrinho Furlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doriva Santana having to interfere. A collision led to Arati getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Valério Batista hit a great ball. Sandrinho Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Doriva Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doriva Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manoel Lara in the 61st minute of the match. Doriva Santana came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Mecanibais's Sandrinho Furlan. But to his dismay, Sandrinho Furlan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Manoel Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Doriva Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Mecanibais's Manoel Lara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Doriva Santana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arati's Rodriguinho Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valério Batista struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Dário Britto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arati. 80 minutes into the match, Sandrinho Furlan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Doriva Santana. Arati's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sandrinho Furlan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Sandrinho Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Valério Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
