The supporters of Sovaco booed when Cavaca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the game, Tadeu Lopez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dedê Valladares. Tadeu Lopez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Bernardo Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sovaco's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardo Lira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dedê Valladares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jefferson Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After having played for 17 minutes, Bernardo Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sovaco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Lira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th minute Tadeu Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dedê Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cavaca fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! Arnaldo Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Zé Carlos de Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arnaldo Matos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
