Kauan Valladares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Souto in the 21st minute of play. In the 27thth minute of the game Gilson Souto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A.C Borussia Dortmund's Kauan Valladares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Murillo Catarinense hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 33 minutes, Carlos Alberto Guimarães mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tucuman and the A.C Borussia Dortmund players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luís Fernando Guedes walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 38th minute, Pedro Paulo Toledo made a precise shot to the right of Kauan Valladares. After having played for 45 minutes, Gilson Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tucuman's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilson Souto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frederico de Carvalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Gilson Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tucuman's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilson Souto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kauan Valladares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 59th minute, Frederico de Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 60 minutes into the game, Igor Barreto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tucuman's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.C Borussia Dortmund the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frederico de Carvalho in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Conrado Arce saved Tucuman from getting behind. Gilson Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute Gilson Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauan Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gilson Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tucuman's Gilson Souto in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye A.C Borussia Dortmund's goalie prevented a goal. Luciano Urbano hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Kauan Valladares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Souto in the 87th minute of the match. With a little luck, A.C Borussia Dortmund's Kauan Valladares got control of the ball when Pedro Paulo Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, A.C Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Urbano came free, but Kauan Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, A.C Borussia Dortmund's Paulinho de Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Conrado Arce narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tucuman played a much better game than A.C Borussia Dortmund and deserved their victory. The A.C Borussia Dortmund players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
