After some careless play in the Alencar AD defense, Dráuzio Paiva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodriguinho Neves. The Alencar AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodriguinho Neves should have stopped the shot. In the 16th minute Genílson Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adhemar Moreira's late challenge caught a Orleans's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adhemar Moreira helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Alencar AD getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Adhemar Moreira hit a great ball. Rodriguinho Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genílson Ortiz in the 18th minute of play. In the 27th minute there was a penalty for Orleans. Carlos Vieira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rodriguinho Neves. 0-3. Dráusio Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Neves having to interfere. Rodrigo Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Cláudio Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genílson Ortiz in the 45th minute of play forced Alencar AD's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Genílson Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Orleans's supporters rose to their feet, but Genílson Ortiz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguinho Neves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Orleans were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genílson Ortiz couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Genílson Ortiz in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rodriguinho Neves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dráusio Travassos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Rodriguinho Neves made a huge save. Dráusio Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Orleans players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
