Flávio Bittencourt came out and tried to block the shot, but Décio de Salles slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 20th minute. Flávio Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enzo Avesani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Britto having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rony Tande in the 34th minute of play forced FC Catalunha's goalkeeper Sílvio Britto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flávio Bittencourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulisses de Sena in the 36th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the game, Falcão Oliveira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Flávio Bittencourt. Falcão Oliveira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. In the 45th minute Ulisses de Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flávio Bittencourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The supporters of FC Catalunha booed when UNIDOS DA PRAIA GRANDE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony Tande didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 70 minutes, Ulisses de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Catalunha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulisses de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Flávio Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Décio de Salles in the 71st minute of play. Rony Tande charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rony Tande the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, UNIDOS DA PRAIA GRANDE's Rony Tande got a free kick in the 74th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulisses de Sena during the 76th minute.
