Rondinha's Wilian Pinheiro suffered a sore foot after 39 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Narciso Sá's late challenge caught a Rondinha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Narciso Sá helped the player get up and apologised. 39 minutes into the game, one of Rasteira:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 42 minutes, Rondinha's Roger Porto got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of José Carneiro. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filipe de Alcântara to make the kick off. When Richard de Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rondinha's protests and gave Richard de Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Rondinha's Richard de Almeida got a free kick in the 54th minute. Nelsinho Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulão Borges in the 59th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Rondinha's goal looked a bit too open when Paulão Borges came free, but Nelsinho Pimenta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Rondinha booed when Rasteira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acácio Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nelsinho Pimenta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulão Borges in the 84th minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Paulão Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nelsinho Pimenta made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Décio Lima sent off a good shot on target. Décio Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelsinho Pimenta having to interfere.
