Valdir Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardinho de Toledo having to interfere. A hard shot 10 in the game by Wágner Salgado from a close distance when the talented Ricardinho de Toledo managed to make a qualified save. Du Campo FC's players were relieved. 15 minutes into the match, Dário do Nascimento notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mutuca SS's André Pombal. André Pombal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wágner Salgado in the 18thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ricardinho de Toledo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mutuca SS's Valdir Linares got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wágner Salgado got free with Ricardinho de Toledo in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Du Campo FC's Gabriel Ramos got a free kick in the 29th minute. Ricardinho de Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir Linares, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. André Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dário do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardinho de Toledo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wágner Salgado went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Du Campo FC's zone, Valdir Linares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardinho de Toledo came out of the goal and Valdir Linares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Du Campo FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 43rd minute. Penalty! 2-1 came through a penalty shot after 44 played minutes, when Mutuca SS:s Régis Barros calmly waited for Du Campo FC:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdir Linares to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Valdir Linares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardinho de Toledo was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Ricardinho de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Dário do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Dário do Nascimento reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of André Pombal. The goal made the score 3-2. 64 minutes into the game, Gabriel Ramos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Du Campo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mutuca SS the free kick. In the 70th minute, Wágner Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Dráusio Branco came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Du Campo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dráusio Branco couldn't finish the play. Ricardinho de Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wágner Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 77th minute, one of Du Campo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Du Campo FC. In the 78th minute there was a penalty for Mutuca SS. Régis Barros stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ricardinho de Toledo. 4-2. If Valdir Linares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88thth minute of the game Valdir Linares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Du Campo FC's Ricardinho de Toledo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gabriel Ramos hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. If Wágner Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdir Linares in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardinho de Toledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Valdir Linares came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Mutuca SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdir Linares couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mutuca SS had played much better football throughout.
