After a defensive mix-up in Sangue Nos Zóio's zone, Arí Brodel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fábio Arruda came out of the goal and Arí Brodel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Carlos Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sangue Nos Zóio's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Cruz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerson Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerson Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didi Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fábio Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vágner Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Wilton Hames helped the player get up and apologised. After 59 played minutes Bitaculo SC got a freekick which was hit by Wilton Hames. In the 61st minute Carlos Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerson Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Sangue Nos Zóio getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Sydney de Medeiros hit a great ball. When Bitaculo SC's Vágner Nogueira in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Téo Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Sangue Nos Zóio getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Sydney de Medeiros hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bitaculo SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sangue Nos Zóio had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
