Jairo Rosado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dinei Breckenfeld, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Carlos Eduardo Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr de Azevedo in the 25th minute of play. Tony de Toledo scored 1-0 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Eduardo Castro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Clóvis Queirós hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Carlos Eduardo Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmyr de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Walmyr de Azevedo in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Eduardo Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Dinei Breckenfeld's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jairo Rosado was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. Jairo Rosado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enio Marquez in the 46th minute of the match. Dinei Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

A very good chance. Tony de Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 2-0 became the score in the 58th minute when Walmyr de Azevedo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Chiquinho de Medeiros took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jairo Rosado. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Walmyr de Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capelinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Walmyr de Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Eduardo Castro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walmyr de Azevedo in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Eduardo Castro saved Araquem AD from getting behind. Walmyr de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Carlos Eduardo Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tony de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute Walmyr de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Eduardo Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Falcão Catarinense in the 85th minute of play forced Araquem AD's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Araquem AD's goal looked a bit too open when Tony de Toledo came free, but Carlos Eduardo Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Walmyr de Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Eduardo Castro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. After 90 played minutes Araquem AD got a freekick which was hit by Luizinho Motta. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by Araquem AD's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Falcão Catarinense was slow to take the kick. During this time Capelinha's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Capelinha's Wellington Campidelis to fire away a dangerous shot which Carlos Eduardo Castro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Capelinha fans cheered their team off the field, for while Araquem AD had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
