Kaká Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Ulisses Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the game, one of Rondonopolis E. C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to Rondonopolis E. C. getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Elivélton Baiano hit a great ball. Haroldo de Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ulisses Lopez having to make a save. With his leg Ulisses Lopez managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Rondonopolis E. C.'s Márcio de Toledo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ulisses Lopez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo de Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes in the game, Haroldo de Amorim fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ulisses Lopez having to interfere. Ulisses Lopez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Haroldo de Amorim's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. After 34 played minutes Tabuleiro EC got a freekick which was hit by Ademir Mangueira. Ulisses Lopez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Haroldo de Amorim showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 41 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Márcio de Toledo put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ulisses Lopez. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Haroldo de Amorim made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Kaká Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ulisses Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válter Palmeira in the 59th minute of play. 62 minutes into the game, André Luís Guimarães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rondonopolis E. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tabuleiro EC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rondonopolis E. C.'s André Luís Guimarães got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Rondonopolis E. C. made a substitution. Evandro Zilles replaced Horácio Cruz. The supporters of Tabuleiro EC booed when Rondonopolis E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luís Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tabuleiro EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kaká Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Kaká Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rondonopolis E. C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Kaká Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulisses Lopez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 87 minutes, Haroldo de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rondonopolis E. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo de Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulisses Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Sousa in the 89th minute of the match. After 90 played minutes Tabuleiro EC got a freekick which was hit by Vladimir Senna. When the match clock showed 96 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Márcio de Toledo sped through Tabuleiro EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ulisses Lopez. Rondonopolis E. C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
